Goal calculations for House line items using Monte Carlo method

*Default input values meaning:
Default: 1.00 is equal to 100% goal
Default: 0.51 is equal to 51% goal
Default: 0.43 is equal to 43% goal

Monte Carlo approach for the traffic goals

Google Ad Manager provides an opportunity to use house line items to fill unfilled impressions in order to eliminate the problem of empty ad slots. If the goal of “100% of remaining impressions” is used, this line item will fill all unfilled impressions. However, if two house line items are used with a 50% goal for each, there will be about 25% unfilled impressions, since 50% goal is the percentage of impressions for which this item will be in competition with the others.

To find the best goal values for the multiple line items to avoid blank impressions, it is possible to apply the Monte Carlo method. The default example above uses three House line items (100%, 51%, and 43% target goals as reflected in the form) and will result in a breakdown of the remaining traffic as of 60% for the 1st line item, 22% for the 2nd line item, and 18% for the 3rd line item. If you only want to use two of the line items for calculations, feel free to put a 0% value for the 3rd line item in this form.
